I think this is the 4th Celebrating Women Luncheon I have done for Gilda’s Club- I appreciate so much that they like my work enough to keep me around even though I live in Tennessee now! It is always such an honor to be a part of a Gilda’s Club event. They are like family, and the work they do for those battling with cancer is amazing. I arrived at the Essex House to shoot the event to find out that it was being emceed by one of my favorite actresses, Emma Stone. She is equally as charming in real life as she is on the movie screen, and her wit really made one of the most boring parts of a fundraiser (pulling raffle tickets) as entertaining as I have ever seen one. The honorees for the event, Dr. Annalisa Jenkins, Executive Vice President, Head of Global Drug Development and Medical, Merck Serono and Kerry Landreth, Managing Director Securities, Goldman Sachs are equally as impressive. Dr. Jenkins speech gave me faith in drug companies that I never knew I could have since the reputation they are often given by the media and tv shows is generally negative. And Kerry Landreth, what an amazing cancer survivor she is, not to mention one with a super pressure filled career! These are a few photos from the event, please visit a Gilda’s Club chapter near you and consider how you can get involved. They are an amazing organization! There is one right here in Nashville.
