This is a pretty EPIC blog post, but this was a pretty EPIC wedding, so I think it makes sense. I had such an amazing time documenting Emily and Mark’s beautiful destination wedding in Playa del Carmen Mexico. What an experience to see a Bride and Groom surrounded by close family and friends and celebrate the wedding with them for an entire weekend in what I would definitely describe as paradise. It was such an honor to be with them on this amazing adventure and to document all the hard work and effort of all the vendors, especially Emily Humphries of Simply Yours Weddings and Events, as well as Arlenis Paz and all the wonderful staff at Le Reve Resort. Full vendor list below… Enjoy!
I had chance to do some casual photos of the two of them before the rehearsal dinner, which was really fun!
So apparently Mark’s favorite animals are monkeys… as a special surprise on the night of their ocean side rehearsal dinner, Emily had two monkeys brought in! Mark was so surprised, and it was a special treat for the guests as well…
The wedding day… special thanks to Designs In Paper for such great work!
Loved this moment when Emily’s Dad saw her for the first time in her dress! Emily found a beautiful way to honor the memory of her mother during the ceremony…and she was remembered with lots of tears and laughter throughout the whole weekend. This. This may be my favorite shot of the entire weekend. Bride photobomb. So, the sky opened up and poured rain on the outdoor dance floor mid-way through the reception! The solution? Move the party in-doors and keep having a blast, which is exactly what they did. It is a perfect example of the advice I give brides- do your best to plan and prepare, and then the day of, no matter what happens, have fun! Last dance… one of my favorite moments.
